Psalm 138:8
The Lord WILL fulfill his PURPOSE for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
Are you a frequent user of Waze or Google Maps? Maybe some other map or GPS on your tablet or phone. I'm so thankful to have it especially when I'm out of town or going to unknown territory.
As a matter of fact I was using my GPS just this weekend in San Antonio. I'm still not a frequent user of Waze but I gave it my full trust or should I say "partial" trust. I used it to get back to our hotel after dinner. It took me straight to Target and I thought, "I should have never trusted it." So, quickly I changed to Google Maps because I feel far more comfortable with it. Funny thing is, the hotel was actually on the other side of Target. If I had only trusted Waze a little longer it would have taken me straight where I needed to go.
I find myself doing the same thing with Jesus even though I don't like to admit it. I trust Jesus only long enough until things don't seem like they are going the right way, then I take things into my own hands.
I guess true faith is kind of like following the map; trust it even when I don't feel like I'm on steady ground or if I don't feel like I know where I'm headed. not that I should entirely trust a GPS like I should God. But it might be helpful to remember that when I am "traveling" through each day that God has a purpose for me. He will not quit and His purpose and direction for me are far better than any plan I may have of my own.
May you remember this week as you use your GPS or map, that even if it doesn't take you to the "right" place, God always will and He will never let you down. It might just be us choosing a different plan than God chose. Which is why it is always good to go to our perfect guide first. God bless you this week as you find God's purpose for your life each & every day!
How cool is it that God has a purpose for each and every one of us. It really is overwhelming to know that each of us, 7.4 billion of us, have a purpose because God loves us, every one of us on this earth. As well as all of the people that came before us and all of the people that will come after us.
(108 billion people have lived on this earth, supposedly! Wow!)
Amen.
