Scripture memory verse challenge - week #14
Ever feel disappointed? Rejected? Stressed? Frustrated? Anxious? Unappreciated? Unaccepted? Sad? Discontented? Discouraged? Disillusioned? Let down? Missed out on an opportunity? Witnessed a terrible accident? Listened to your child cry because of something broken?
You may or may not remember the 1st time I shared a verse. I said that even though difficult things happened, I somehow still felt the peace of God.
Well ever since I started this, I will have to say it's been pretty challenging. I don't know if it's because I'm sharing these or if it's just because sometimes life is hard. But this week I had some pretty difficult days. And that peace I felt... It wasn't there. Life. Is. Hard. And hard knocks will be thrown even when trying to learn and keep these verses close to my heart. This verse came to me today.
I've always wondered what the easy yoke and light burden were so I looked it up. I found an article written by Rick Warren. I am sharing the link with you and hope you will find time to read. It helped me understand that the yoke is used in farming to share the burden between animals. When we come to Jesus and actually share our yoke with Him, our burdens becomes lighter.
This week and next week I am going to purposely "come to Jesus" to find rest even when days are not so easy. An even better reason to have these verses in my head so I can go to Him more often without having to think about it too much. Merry Christmas and may you come to Jesus & find your burdens lifted. God bless!
