So I started a weekly memory verse challenge with Max Lucado this week. It's good for me because it's only one, thank goodness.
Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Funny thing, the week held it's own problems and challenges...
-my husband's car wouldn't start the morning I began the challenge
-my daughter was frustrated with me, numerous times
-I didn't handle a situation great with someone I work with
-I tried to be more bold at work
-a friend told me something hard that she was going through
-my plans didn't work out as well as expected... and that's just to name a few
However through all of this, I realized something pretty amazing. I still found more peace in all of these things this week and I truly felt the presence of God as He really was with me through all of it. And the coolest thing that happened was that instead of getting more frustrated than usual, I said the verse to myself over and over when it got really hard. Which made me focus on more positive thoughts instead of the opposite. I realize there is no such thing as a perfect day, only the presence of God can help me through the hard day along with the easier ones too.
