Scripture Memory Verse Challenge - Week #9
Nehemiah 8:10
After reading a devotional on this verse I decided to focus on it. When we need strength, it's not ours that carries us further, it's the strength we find in
the joy of all God has done for us. I went back to read Nehemiah to see what the book and verse were referring to and it was about all of the wonderful things that God did to take care of the Israelites, from the parting of the Red Sea and the escape from the Egyptians, to the manna in Heaven, the water from rocks and the pillar to guide them. All reminders that God wants to do whatever it takes to care for each and every one of us. And when we focus on what God does for us, we can then find joy in His love for us and ultimately gain strength from Him.
It really is amazing how quickly time goes by. I can't believe it's been 9 weeks since I started this. I look back over the past nine weeks and each verse and what has happened and to be honest my life has not been a fairy tale or any easier because of these verses. However, I have noticed that the way I have handled some things has improved. To have positive words to lean on and something bigger than myself has eased the pain of many problems. I realize that our problems will never go away. It's our perspective on them and the strength we gather from our Lord as well as those special people in our lives that encourage us to grow. God bless you. I would love to hear from anyone how any of these verses has impacted you. May you find joy this week in the strength of the Lord.
