John 16:33
So thank you first of all for reading this post. I have been sharing a weekly scripture challenge on facebook since September but was having a hard time going back to see which ones I had shared. I decided it might be a little easier to create a blog and share it that way. I created this website several years ago and thought that this might be the best route to share more weekly scripture memory verses.
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's celebration. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to this year. Differently than any other year. Why? Well one reason is that I do have intentions to spend more time with the people who "fill me up" and two, because I realize that we don't know how much time we have and like the quote in Shawshank Redemption reminds me, "Get busy living, or get busy dying." So this year I am going to get busy living to the best that I can.
The reason I like this verse is because when I was going through some of the most difficult times in my life, i realized that even if you live a good life and try your hardest, you are not going to escape trouble. It will find you. And Satan is going to try every trick possible to create doubt, fear and confusion to keep us away from God. So to prepare myself for the best year ahead, I am also going to remind myself that there will be trouble. But the best news of all is that Jesus has overcome this world. Satan will not win. Even though he may confuse and frustrate, Jesus promises that we will have peace in Him. As you begin this new year, I pray that trouble doesn't overwhelm you but only makes you stronger and creates a powerful relationship with Jesus, our protector and defender.
God bless you in this new year. May it be your best year ever.
